Neo Victorian

DESCRIPTION:
The project was conceived as a parallel to the Victorians that were built at the turn of the century to house individuals drawn to Oakland for available work associated with the newly arrived train lines. The project is a speculative infill development that maximizes available density. The response was designed to address both the immediate historic context and the broader development of West Oakland. The result is an attempt to blend key stylistic elements and time frames by integrating architectural elements, proportions, and materials into a new form.
