Folded House

DESCRIPTION:
The scope of this Oakland house ranged from property acquisition and project funding to design and construction. Conceptually, a continuous, folded and cut plane adjusts to provide various degrees of shelter, privacy and connectivity, integrating space and site into a sustainable whole. Durable material and adaptive systems allow future modifications to be easily performed, extending the life of the house. The use of innovative green technologies, as well as passive techniques provided the achievement of third party green certification.
