DESCRIPTION:
This project began with a singular monolithic volume, hidden behind an existing home, and modified in response to the site and neighbor concerns, as well as local zoning ordinances. The volume is sculpted and stretched; lowered toward the mass of a multi-unit building on one end, and raised to emphasize the entry (where it has the least impact) on the other. The house also orients itself around existing trees and reorients the city required parking to maintain and optimize open space.
