Architectural Designer 2-4 Years Experience
The Architecture:
We have built a reputation on providing creative and innovative solutions to challenging problems. We strive to create high quality design that balances conceptual with functional concerns. With a focus on ideas and process, our designs evolve as unique adaptations to existing constraints that prioritize flexibility in the architectural outcome. The work spans multiple disciplines of architecture, interiors, landscape, construction, and real estate development. The majority of our work is new construction of urban infill single family dwellings and multi-family buildings, but also include commercial and residential adaptive reuse, office tenant improvements, and retail. Our clients are primarily developers, but also include small business owners, families looking to build their dream home, and on occasion we act as our own client.
The Studio:
We are a young and energetic small studio with bootstrapping origins and ethos. Our studio environment can be described as light-hearted and sometimes rough around the edges, but we are also a diverse and tight knit and group that takes our work very seriously. We are highly collaborative, and encourage individuals to take ownership of process and projects. We support individual growth by engaging all staff completely in the project process, from initial concept through construction and occupancy. We value both efficiency and life-work balance.
Qualifications
- Degree in Architecture from an accredited university
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in architecture or related fields
- General Design Skills
- Understanding of 3 dimensional form and space
- Broad exposure to all aspects of architectural practice
- Ability to thrive in both team and independent working scenarios
- Organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Experience assembling construction sets
- Experience with technical drawing
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
- Resilience to handle multifaceted challenges
- Experience with Revit and SketchUp preferred
- Experience with Lumion a plus
- A drive for constant growth, development and learning
Responsibilities
- Full-time, 40 hour work week
- Provide and develop design concepts
- Incorporate design concepts across scales
- Understand and contribute to project objectives
- Understand zoning and building code requirements
- Create accurate models and drawings using Revit and Sketchup
- Create renderings using Lumion
- Correct drawings from redlines
- Ensure project drafting is complete and legible
- Review design and technical requirements with City staff
- Perform general studio tasks to assist in various marketing and operations efforts
